Ingredients:
439m Woolpedia Lines (organic cotton ribbon yarn) for the ballon,
scrap yarn for the graphics and basket,
and a 4mm crochet hook, filling
Let's crochet a circle first:
Ch 2 (chain stitches), 6 sc (single crochets) in the 1st ch
Crochet the knit stitch for the balloon part in spiral rounds:
Set markers at increasing points.
Round 1: Inc (increase) every st (stitch) (12 stitches in total)
Round 2: Inc every 2nd st (18 st)
Round 3: Inc every 3rd st (24)
Round 4: Inc every 4th round (30)
Round 5: Inc every 5th round (36)
... until round 15 (96 st)
Round 16: no inc
Round 17: Inc every 16th st
Round 18: no inc
Round 19: Inc every 17th st
Slip stitch a Smiley onto the balloon top.

Afterwards 21 rounds without inc.
Round 41: Dec (decrease) skip every 18th st
Round 42: no dec
Round 43: Skip every 17th st
Round 44: no dec
Round 45: Skip every 16th st
Round 46: no dec
... until round 62
Afterwards 7 rounds without dec
Slip stitch stripes and moon onto the balloon.
Insert a plastic bag, fill the balloon. Tie a knot and cut the surplus plastic.
Basket: Terracotta color
22 ch, 28 rows of half double crochets
Insert a piece of wood or cardboard
Fold the work and crochet around the insert.
Crochet the sides in 10 spiral rounds around the base. Single crochet through the back loop only.
Tie the basket to the balloon with some yarn, and tie bows.
Lamp Option
Instead of stuffing the balloon, you can line it from the inside with wire.
